Diffusion
History
Began as a Jewish sect in the mid-1st century. In the beginning there was only Chiritianity and then as time went on the Great Schism occured. The Great Schism was the split between the Eastern and Western Churches. After the Great Schism there was the Protestant Reformation (the split that caused Protestants).
Types of Diffusion, Including Barriers
Christianity was mainly spread by diffusion and relocation. Diffusion and relocation go hand in hand because disciples would spread the Word of God as they would pilgramage around Israel.

Twelve Apostles, St. Paul and St. Peter, and bishops.
The Twelve Apostles were hand chosen by Jesus Christ and the bishops are considered the sucessors of the Twelve.
