The first leader/creator of Buddhism is Buddha Siddhartha Gautama who was born in Nepal. Eventually Buddha had a great influence over most of Asia.
Sects and Fragmentations
The three sects to Buddhism are Theravada ("Way of the Elder"), Mahayana ("Greater Vehicle"), and Vajrayana ("Diamond Vehicle").
